My name is Cri, it's pronounced "Kree" like the blue aliens from avengers, and I've been running profitable Airbnb's for the last 3 years now.
My start in Airbnb was actually back in 2013, 2 years after the platform launched, back when it was still a "hot trend"... Long story short we put a room up on airbnb and made almost $600 for just 18 days a month of rent. I was hooked. It wasn't until about 2017 that I started to really notice the power of Airbnb and what it could do for average everyday folks like you and me.
In 2018 I quit my job in corporate America working for Apple as a business sales executive to start my own digital marketing business and I struggled. For nearly 4 months I didn't get a single client, but fortunately I had 2 back to back and that replaced my income from working for Apple.
About 1 year later I found a community of people willing to train and mentor me on how to invest in real estate, and they taught more than just 1 strategy of how to find, fund and exit deals.
I latched onto airbnb because it was what I knew, and I moved into arbitrage about 4 months after starting to learn about other ways to acquire control of properties.
My first deal was a single family house that I found in a neighborhood close to the high school that I went to, and we actually lost money the first 3 months on it until we got coaching, mentorship, and specific actionable advice that we implemented to turn it around.
Once we fixed the broken things in our listing, the terrible furniture, the bad photos, and better marketing, things started to take off and we started to hit consistent $1k profit months. This was DURING pandemic...
After that I got asked to run a property in another state, and it was successful from day 1 (we launched and that day we got a $750 booking), since then it's gone on to produce 5 figures in revenue annually.
We were asked to start help co-hosting and running properties for other investors, and that's when we had our first 5 figure month, breaking $37,000 in revenue.
What I've learned along the way is that you absolutely 100% need a team, focus, time, and systems if you want to truly go from "hustling" on the side to running a REAL business.
There's no getting around it.
You have to be willing to invest time into relationship building, getting educated on how to operate the business correctly, and working on your systems.
In the beginning it will feel like a TON of work, but it will be, trust me, worth it in the long run.
